Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Flu Vaccines.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

271 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of flu vaccines made available in the North Eastern Health Board; the uptake on those vaccines; if additional vaccines will be available if necessary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26591/00]

The North Eastern Health Board has advised my Department that it has received 33,000 doses of influenza vaccine this flu season. The board has indicated that of this quantity, 31,763 doses have been issued to date. The board has also indicated that while detailed information is not yet available, early indications are that uptake of the vaccine is good. A further national stock of 25,000 doses is on order and a proportion of this will be available to the North Eastern Health Board if required.
