Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

278 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps he will take to have a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath immediately admitted to Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital, Dublin 11 to have a pressing orthopaedic procedure carried out due to the fact that the person in question is in great pain; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26750/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
