Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

367 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the Garda stations in County Donegal in which there is only part-time cover; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26453/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas that there are 45 Garda stations in County Donegal – ten of which are open on a 24 hour basis.

I am also informed that the remaining stations open for various periods – according to local policing requirements and available personnel – and receive a 24 hour Garda service from within their respective district-division.
