Vol. 526 No. 5

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Stanton – the current collapse in prices for beef; (2) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need for legislation to permit local authorities to regulate and charge telecom operators who continuously dig up roads and streets; and (3) Deputy Gilmore – the need for the Government to respond to new figures, produced yesterday by Focus Ireland, which suggest that there are now 1,200 children and their families living in bed and breakfast accommodation because they are unable to access housing.

The matters raised by Deputies Stanton, Broughan and Gilmore have been selected for discussion.
