In March 2000 I announced average increases of 30% in the rate of annual forest premiums paid to farmers. These increases are payable to those who planted as and from 1 October 1999.
My discussions with the European Commission in connection with increasing the rate of annual forest premium paid to those who planted before October 1999 have not yet been finalised.
