Vol. 526 No. 5

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

69 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Finance the current position regarding the application for flood relief works at Oranbeg and Frenchfort, Oranmore, County Galway; if a decision has been made on the report which was submitted to the engineering service section earlier in 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27083/00]

A survey of the Oranbeg, Frenchfort and Oranmore areas of County Galway was recently carried out by the Office of Public Works regional staff. On the basis of that report, it is the opinion of the Office of Public Works that any works required, which would be minor, would be more expediently carried out by the local authority or under a local improvement scheme. I am arranging for a copy of the report in question to be forwarded to the local authority.
