Vol. 526 No. 5

Written Answers. - Pharmaceutical Licences.

Michael Noonan

Question:

73 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Health and Children when he will make a decision on an appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick against a decision made by the Mid-Western Health Board to licence a new pharmacy in the vicinity of the Watch House Cross, Limerick to service the community of Moyross, County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27087/00]

The decision of the chief executive officer of the MWHB to refuse the application for a community pharmacy contractor referred to by the Deputy has been appealed to me under the Health (Community Pharmacy Contractor Agreement) Regulations, 1996. My decision in the matter will be communicated to the appellant and to the chief executive officer shortly. In the meantime, the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the details of the matter or on my intentions in regard to the appeal.
