Question:

85 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has made provision in his Estimates for an increase in the charges at casualty departments in public wards to private patients in day care, or in-patient accommodation in both semi-private and private beds; the existing charge levels; and the new charge levels in this regard. [27126/00]

The 2001 abridged Book of Estimates published on 16 November has no provision for an increase in charges.

Charges for private, semi-private and day care beds for private patients in public hospitals are set out in the following table:
