Vol. 527 No. 2

Written Answers. - Programme for Prosperity and Fairness.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

90 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness is proceeding in accordance with projections and targets identified at the outset; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28119/00]

The Programme for Prosperity and Fairness, PPF, covers a wide range of issues. Two progress reports on the various chapters of the PPF have been presented to the Houses of the Oireachtas and circulated to the social partners. As regards the projections and targets contained in the PPF, one area causing particular concern is inflation. The Government have announced measures to reduce inflationary pressures in the economy. A number of meetings have been held with the social partners to discuss concerns in this regard.
