Vol. 527 No. 2

Written Answers. - Drainage Works.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

102 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance when remedial drainage works will be undertaken at Dangean, Celbridge, County Kildare where severe damage has occurred arising from flooding in the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28153/00]

The Office of Public Works has not carried out any drainage schemes at Dangean, Celbridge, County Kildare, and consequently have no responsibility for maintenance of watercourses in that area. However, the Office of Public Works will provide whatever support is requested by the local authority in carrying out their responsibilities to relieve flooding in the Dangean area.
