Question:

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a transfer of part which was lodged on 17 February 2000. I am further informed that queries issued on 17 November 2000 to the lodging solicitor and that on receipt of a satisfactory response the matter will be dealt with as soon as possible.

Michael Ring

Question:

143 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a dealing for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be completed. [28091/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged in the Land Registry on 8 November 1999. Dealing No. D2000SM005322N refers. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, take some time to process.

I am further informed that notice has been served on 22 November 2000 on all parties whose interests may be affected by the application in so far as such parties can be identified. This correspondence must be satisfactorily resolved before this application can proceed further. However, I can assure the Deputy that the application is receiving attention.
