Vol. 528 No. 2

Written Answers. - Food Relief.

John Browne

Question:

131 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange to have Enniscorthy, County Wexford included in the Office of Public Works early flood warning system, to help the residents living along the River Slaney section of the town. [29858/00]

The Office of Public Works has not carried out any drainage schemes in Enniscorthy or on the River Slaney in general and consequently has no responsibility for maintenance of this watercourse including the provision of an early flood warning system. However, the Office of Public Works will provide whatever support is requested by the local authority in carrying out their responsibilities to relieve flooding in the Enniscorthy area.
