Question:

148 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for treatment for his prostate problem. [29921/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.

149 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of men awaiting treatment for prostate problems in each health board area, the numbers for each county in the Western Health Board region; and the details of all procedures on all waiting lists including urgent, routine, non-routine and assessment procedures. [29922/00]

The provision of services is in this instance the statutory responsibility of each individual health board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of each board to reply to the Deputy directly. In relation to the details of the numbers awaiting treatment in the Western Health Board area, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to reply to the Deputy directly.
