Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Sargent. I call on Deputy Sargent to state the matter.
Request to Move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I move that the Dáil be adjourned under Standing Order 31 to discuss the Government report from the Minister for Finance on the democratic deficit in global institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank so that heavily indebted countries can be given some hope for their futures in the weeks before Christmas.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31 and, therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
