242 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 113 of 21 November 2000, the educational disadvantage committee as provided for in the Education Act, 1998 has been established; if not, the reason therefore; when this will happen; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Arrangements for the establishment of the Educational Disadvantage Committee, under the Education Act, 1998, are at an advanced stage.

I hope to be in a position to establish the committee early in 2001.
