255 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if approval has been given to a school (details supplied) in Dublin 9 for the proposed extension; and if he will ensure that this application is dealt with as soon as possible. [29990/00]
My Department recently received the state 4/5 submission i.e. detailed design and Bill of Quantities for the new extension at the school to which the Deputy refers.
Staff in the building unit of my Department is currently examining this report.
256 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to building works which need to be carried out at a school (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30025/00]
My Department has requested the property management section of the Office of Public Works, which is acting on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally, to explore the possibility of acquiring a site for a new school to replace the existing school referred to in the details.
As soon as a report is received from the Office of Public Works, my Department will give further consideration to the matter.
The school authorities will be kept informed of any developments.
