Vol. 528 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Liam Aylward

Question:

111 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will reinvestigate the installation aid grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and the requirements the applicant must satisfy in order to ensure that payment is made. [29901/00]

Under the terms and conditions of the installation aid scheme, two or more persons who carry out farming on lands owned or leased either jointly or separately or as tenants-in-common may be admitted to the scheme provided that all the parties are under 35 years of age at the date of setting up.

The person named lodged an application with Teagasc in April 1995. However, he was set up on lands as a tenant-in-common with a person over 35 years of age and accordingly, he is ineligible for aid under the scheme.
