Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Sargent. I call on Deputy Sargent to state the matter.
Request to Move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I wish to raise the following matter of public importance, that the House be adjourned in order for the Government to bring the Dáil up to date on the measures which have yet to be taken to urgently end the ASTI dispute to alleviate the hardship facing examination students and all involved in Irish education.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31. Therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
