Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Compensation Payments.

Willie Penrose

Question:

350 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the steps he will take to ensure that appropriate compensation payments for tuberculosis reactors are made to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30536/00]

The holding of the person named has been restricted under the TB eradication scheme since 9 April 1999.

The restriction notice requires that no animal be moved into or out of the holding except under the authority of a movement permit. The person named continued to buy in animals although permission to move animals into the restricted holding had not been sought. The herdowner has been informed by the DVO that the continued breaches of the restriction notice have rendered him ineligible for compensation.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

351 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when outstanding payments in relation to reactor grants in respect of cattle depopulated in September 1999 will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [30537/00]

The total amount of £10,400 due in respect of reactor grants has been paid to the herdowner concerned. There are no further payments due.
