Question:388 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim has not received REP scheme payment. [1510/01]

The REPS participant named was notified on 17 January 2001 of a penalty imposed on foot of a pre-payment compliance inspection. He had been selected at random for inspection following his third year application for payment. When he was notified of the penalty, he was also advised that he could appeal it to his local FDS office. No appeal has yet been received from him.
This participant has also disposed of some land and, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the scheme, money paid in respect of that land has been recouped. Payment of the net amount due to him issued on 25 January 2001.
