Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Consultant Appointments.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

545 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress that has been made in the approval of a consultant physician post with special interest in endocrinology to Waterford Regional Hospital, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1109/01]

The provision of services at Waterford Regional Hospital is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board in the first instance. The board is presently developing its service plan for 2001 on the basis of funding notified to it in my Department's letter of determination. The development of services at Waterford Regional Hospital in 2001 is under consideration by the board in this context.
