Question:

594 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the proposals he has to appoint a second geriatrician to Waterford Regional Hospital, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1364/01]

The provision of health services in County Waterford is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board and I understand that the board has replied directly to the Deputy in this matter.

595 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the proposals he has in relation to the District Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1365/01]

The provision of health services in County Waterford is the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board.

I have been informed by the South Eastern Health Board that it has made provision under the National Development Plan 2001-06 for the replacement of the District Hospital in Dungarvan.
