596 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip operation. [1376/01]

As the provision of medical services in this instance falls within the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, my Department has asked the regional chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.

597 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Limerick will be called for a knee operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1377/01]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Limerick is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the Mid-Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
