111 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the principal implications for Ireland of the changes to the European Treaty agreed at the Nice Summit; if it is intended to put these changes to the people in a referendum; the proposals he has to promote awareness of the changes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 254 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if, in the run up to the forthcoming intergovernmental conference, he has clearly established Ireland's continued commitment to the European Union and its principles; if he has intimated to his EU colleagues the necessity for fair representation for smaller countries in all EU institutions, the embodiment of the principles of enlargement and continued co-operation and integration at social, economic and political levels; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
