Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Irish Medical Council.

Bernard Allen

Question:

720 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a statement on the situation where the UK General Medical Council has alerted the Irish Medical Council of the situation where a person (details supplied), suspended for allegedly sexually assaulting his patients in the UK, has been working here while suspended; and if he has been in touch with the Irish Medical Council to establish the reason it has not applied to the High Court for his suspension as a potential risk to patients here. [2266/01]

I have asked the Medical Council for a report on the current registration status of the person named. I will write to the Deputy as soon as I receive this report.
