Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Wage Increases.

Michael Ring

Question:

739 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a 20% wage increase, agreed by the Western Health Board to a sub-contractor for employees, will be passed on to the employees; and if this can be investigated, particularly as no reply has issued from the health board on the previous question placed. [2453/01]

I have made inquiries of the Western Health Board. I understand from the board that the sub-contractor referred to is not a nominated subcontractor. The board understands that he carries out work for the main contractor as part of a direct arrangement, not involving the Western Health Board. Any arrangements between the subcontractor and the main contractor would not relate to the Western Health Board.
