Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Museum.

Enda Kenny

Question:

939 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of and recruitment method for tour guides and other staff to be employed at the National Museum at Turlough Park House, Castlebar, County Mayo; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2426/01]

The current sanctioned staffing at the National Museum at Turlough Park House, Castlebar, County Mayo is 20, and these posts are being dealt with by internal transfer and by open public competition. The question of the numbers and the recruitment of education assistants/tour guides and retail staff is currently being addressed. It would be expected that these posts will be filled by open competition following advertisement.
