My Department is commissioning a consultancy for the development of an e-strategy which will also provide cost projections. In addition, a contract will be placed shortly for the design of a new website for my Depart ment which will provide easily accessible comprehensive information on the activities of my Department. The bodies under my aegis are also preparing their e-strategies for implementation. Funding for implementation of the Department's developed e-strategy is included in my Department's provision of £2,849,000 for IT in 2001. Additional funding is available from the information society fund for e-government projects.
