Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Arts Funding.

Phil Hogan

Question:

968 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she has sanctioned the necessary finance for the provision of an arts centre for County Kilkenny; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2077/01]

An application has been made for funding of an arts centre in Kilkenny under the ACCESS – Arts and Culture Capital Enhancement Support Scheme. A total of £36 million of Exchequer funding is available under ACCESS for the period 2001-2004. The initial assessment of all applications is currently being undertaken to determine whether each application meets the broad criteria for eligibility. A full appraisal of all eligible applications will then be undertaken.
