Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Resources.

Jack Wall

Question:

1026 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will provide extra funding for the provision of additional Garda personnel and resources for a town (details supplied) in County Kildare. [1509/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas that the current personnel strength, all ranks, of the station referred to by the Deputy is 17. Resources are augmented from within the district as required.

I am further informed by the Garda authorities that the allocation of personnel to areas is constantly under review and that the needs of the area referred to by the Deputy will be fully con sidered in the overall context of the needs of other Garda districts in the division.
