Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Austin Deasy

Question:

1058 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if it is intended to keep the Garda station in Stradbally, County Waterford open and to replace the recently retired member of the Garda Síochána. [1908/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that Stradbally sub-district is policed effectively by resources from adjoining stations and that, in addition, the PACB and call diversion system are in operation and linked to Tramore station.

I am further informed that a review of the structures in the South Eastern Garda Region is currently ongoing as part of the Strategic Management Initiative within the Garda Síochána and that it is not envisaged that there will be any change to current arrangements at Stradbally pending the outcome of this review.
