Phil Hogan

Question:

1125 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science when a permanent resource teacher will be provided for Scoil Padraig, Bally hale, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30431/00]

John McGuinness

Question:

1130 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will consider a request from Ballyhale, Stoneyford, Newmarket and Monroe schools in County Kilkenny for a resource teacher; and if the appointment can be made immediately. [30488/00]

Liam Aylward

Question:

1225 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has yet received his inspector's report on the application for a resource teacher by the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if so, when approval will be given. [1922/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 1125, 1130 and 1225 together.

I am pleased to advise the Deputies that the schools to which they refer have been allocated resource teaching support to cater for pupils with special needs attending those schools. A full-time resource teacher post has been allocated on a shared basis between Scoil Phádraig, Ballyhale and Newmarket national school. Resource teaching hours have been allocated to Stoneyford and Monroe national schools.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

1126 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to a school building (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30432/00]

My Department has agreed in principle to grant-aid a new two-classroom school to replace the school referred to in the details supplied, subject to the usual conditions which include a suitable site being available. The matter will now be progressed through the school authorities.

Michael Creed

Question:

1127 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will have arrangements made for additional tuition be given to students at a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [30433/00]

I understand that my Department has not received an application for additional teaching support for the pupil referred to by the Deputy. The school in question may apply through my Department's primary inspectorate for additional support for the student in question if it considers that such support is warranted. Any such application will be given full consideration.
