Written Answers. - School Transport.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

1132 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 250 of 7 December 2000, any excep tions have been made in relation to the school transport system for first year pupils from County Kildare attending Colaiste Chilliain in Clondalkin, Dublin 22; the difference between both cases in terms of the school transport scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30490/00]

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

1215 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if special school transport will be provided for students attending Colaiste Cois Life, Lucan, County Dublin; if a special effort might be made to meet such requirements at this time given the parents' concern about the security and safety of children in such circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1888/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 1132 and 1215 together.

I have asked the school transport section of my Department to re-examine transport arrangements for pupils from the North Kildare area to Coláiste Cois Life, Lucan, as a matter of urgency. The Deputies will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
