1210 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will state, in respect of a person (details supplied) who has been assessed by a departmental psycho-educational assessment as suffering from a severe specific learning difficulty, the steps being taken to ensure the person receives tuition from a resource teacher in the school for two to five hours per week, as recommended by the consultant psychologist; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Question:

1211 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 cannot receive tui tion in his school from a resource teacher as recommended by a recent psycho-educational assessment. [1835/01]

I propose to take Questions No. 1210 and 1211 together.

I am pleased to inform the Deputies that my Department has recently sanctioned a resource teaching post to cater for the special needs of the pupil in question and a number of other special needs children attending the school.
