Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Paul McGrath

Question:

1253 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application for additional classroom space had been made to his Department for Dalystown national school, County Westmeath; and the projected timescale for the commencement of works at this school. [2040/01]

I can confirm that my Department has received an application from the management authorities of Dalystown national school for grant aid towards additional classroom space.

Architectural planning for the project is progressing. It is not possible at this point to give any indication as to when the project will proceed to construction as the rate of progress depends on factors such as the outcome of the tender competition and the procurement, where relevant, of bonds, insurance and tax clearance by prospective contractors.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

[2043/01]

Architectural planning for the provision of a new gaelscoil in Mullingar is progressing. It is not possible at this point to give any indication as to when the project will proceed to construction as the rate of progress depends on factors such as the period of time required for the granting of planning permission and obtaining a fire certificate, the outcome of the tender competition and the procurement, where relevant, of bonds, insurance and tax clearance by prospective contractors.
