Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Drug Education Initiatives.

John Bruton

Question:

1311 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if it is correct that the Government has allocated £1.7 million to be spent by 300 primary and 125 secondary schools in the Dublin area on drug education initiatives; if this scheme will be extended to other schools in the Dublin area and all other schools nationwide; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2449/01]

I am currently examining the feasibility of introducing new drug education initiatives in primary and post primary schools in the local drugs task force catchment areas. The Deputy will be advised if any new initiatives are introduced.
