Vol. 529 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Appointments.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

222 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a full-time manager post has been sanctioned for the Waterford Land Registry office; the duties of the full-time manager; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3161/01]

A full-time manager post at principal officer level has been sanctioned for the Land Registry office in Waterford. The title of the post will be head of administration, Waterford, and I am informed that a competition for appointment to the post has recently been advertised in the Land Registry.

I am informed that the successful candidate, who will report directly to the manager, will be responsible for the management of the entire operation in Waterford. The post will be a dual role post encompassing administrative and casework responsibilities as appropriate. The duties include implementation of policy objectives and dealing with all local day to day issues. The appointee will be expected to work closely with the existing management structures and senior staff in Waterford.
