Vol. 530 No. 1

Written Answers. - Computer Aided Mobilisation Project.

Liz McManus

Question:

125 Ms McManus asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the contract for the equipping of the new computer aided mobilisation project, CAMP, has been signed; when the computer aided mobilisation project will come into operation; if all counties in Leinster are to be included in the system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3289/01]

I assume the Deputy is referring to the contract for equipping the new regional control centre at Townsend Street, Dublin for the east region of the computer aided mobilisation project, CAMP. I understand tenders received for this element of the project are under examination in Dublin Corporation, the contracting authority for the project. The corporation will be submitting, as soon as possible, a tender proposal for the award of the contract, for my approval. The Townsend Street centre is in operation catering for the Dublin area and counties Laois, Longford, Meath and Wexford via an interim system. The final system for the east region is due to be completed in 2002 and will cater for all of Leinster and counties Cavan and Monaghan.
