Vol. 530 No. 1

Written Answers. - Asylum Applications.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

46 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if further consideration has been given to the case of a person (details supplied) whose application for asylum has been rejected; and if he will agree to her remaining here on humanitarian grounds. [3262/01]

Alan Shatter

Question:

147 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if further consideration has been given to the case of a person (details supplied) whose application for asylum has been rejected; and if he will agree to this person remaining here on humanitarian grounds. [1177/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 46 and 147 together.

I refer the Deputies to Question Nos. 103 on 23 November 2000 in relation to this case. The person referred to has since been given leave by the courts to seek a judicial review of her case. In the circumstances, it would be inappropriate for me to take further action in the matter until the judicial review is determined.
