Vol. 530 No. 1

Written Answers. - Installation Aid Scheme.

Liam Aylward

Question:

108 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will examine the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who wishes to submit an application under the new installation aid scheme; and if this person's application can be considered under this scheme. [3296/01]

The new installation aid scheme will be confined to farmers who were set up in farming on owned or leased land for the first time on or after 1 January 2000. If, as indicated, the person named was set up on leased land and commenced farming prior to that date, he is ineligible for the new scheme. However, should this person fulfil the terms and conditions of the current national scheme of installation aid, it is open to him to make an application under that scheme.

Question No. 109 withdrawn.
