Vol. 530 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

161 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Education and Science if schools (details supplied) in County Mayo can be allocated a second remedial teacher in view of the huge demand for the one existing teacher. [4321/01]

All available learning support teacher posts have been allocated as part of the process of extending the learning support service to every primary school in the country with a pupil teacher ratio of 10:1 or above. I can assure the Deputy that the needs of the schools in question will be taken into account in the event of additional learning support teacher posts becoming available.
