Vol. 530 No. 5

Written Answers. - Installation Aid Scheme.

Denis Naughten

Question:

65 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development his plans to review the eligibility requirements for the installation aid scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1469/01]

The new enhanced scheme of installation aid provides for an increased level of premia from £5,600 to £7,500 and will be open to young trained farmers under 35 years of age who have taken over a farm since 1 January 2000. It is my intention that the new scheme will be available to the greatest possible number of young farmers and, in drafting the new scheme, the eligibility conditions have been examined and will be monitored as the scheme progresses.
