35 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she has considered the application from Cobh (Great Island) Community Centre Limited for a grant to refurbish a theatre in Cobh, County Cork; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4909/01]
The Deputy will be aware that I have secured a total of £36 million of Exchequer funding for ACCESS for the period 2001-2004. An initial assessment of the Cobh theatre project application for ACCESS funding has been completed and it has been determined that the project in question has met the broad criteria for eligibility. Accordingly, the application will now undergo a full evaluation along with other eligible applications and, on the basis of this, recommendations on the projects to be supported will be submitted to me for decision.
