61 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if, in view of an article in a newspaper (details supplied) on 5 February 2001, he will state the steps he has taken to ensure that the use of his Department's e-mail and Internet facilities are properly regulated; if a policy on the use of these facilities exists; when the policy was last updated; when the policy was last circulated to staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not at present have a published written policy in relation to the use of the electronic mail and the Internet. This deficiency was recognised late last year during a review of the IT infrastructure and further identified during an audit of computer systems con ducted by Arthur Andersen in January 2001. A draft policy in relation to the use of electronic mail and the Internet is in preparation. It is hoped to have the policy agreed and published by June 2001.
