Enda Kenny

Question:

211 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received an application from the Mayo Education Centre in respect of the provision of capital funding for the purchase of new computer equipment at the education centre; if his attention has been drawn to the estimated cost of £30,000 required to provide the necessary hardware; if he has examined the record and use of the existing and now obsolete computers by the Mayo Education Centre to date; if his attention has further been drawn to the sponsorship agreements with a company (details supplied) and other leading software-licensing needs; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the education centre will require 20 high spec computers, a network server and a CD server; if he will authorise approval of this assistance; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6190/01]

My Department's post primary building unit caters for capital funding towards the provision of accommodation, furniture and equipment in respect of education centres. To date my Department's post primary building unit has not received an application for the provision of replacement computers at this centre. My Department's officials will be in contact with the director in this matter.
