Vol. 531 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

213 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction the acquisition of new premises for the School for Autistic Children at Glasheen, County Cork. [6199/01]

The Cork Applied Behavioural Analysis Project, which is situated at Glasheen, is currently catering for 18 children.

My Department proposes an expansion of the project to enable it to cater for up to 30 children. Officials of my Department are investigating possible locations in the Cork area to accommodate the extra places.

It is hoped that arrangements for the expansion of the project can be made as soon as possible.
