Vol. 532 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

108 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the total advertising expenditure incurred by her Department and all State bodies and agencies under the aegis of her Department for the year 2000; if she will specify each entity's expenditure on television advertising during that year; and the spend on Irish language television advertising by each entity during the year. [7072/01]

The total advertising expenditure paid from my Department's Vote for the year 2000 was £516,000. Of this amount, the Irish Energy Centre incurred expenditure of £332,531, of which £120,000 was on television advertising, including £1,200 on Teilifís na Gaeilge.

I have no function in relation to advertising by State bodies as it is a day to day matter for the companies concerned.
