Question:

115 Mr. Foley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will issue additional milk quota to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry. [7061/01]

The milk quota appeals tribunal considered an application from the person named for additional quota at its meeting on 20 February 2001. The tribunal did not, however, recommend an allocation of quota in this case.

The person named has been notified of the outcome of his application. Due to the large volume of applications submitted during the current milk quota year and the limited quantity of quota available for distribution, the tribunal is not in a position to re-examine this case during the current milk quota year. However, he may apply when application forms for the 2001-02 milk quota year become available. The forms will be available after 1 April 2001 from milk purchasers and from the Milk Policy Division, Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
