Vol. 532 No. 2

Written Answers. - Compensation Payments.

Billy Timmins

Question:

119 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his Department has paid compensation to a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow for infected animals; the current situation in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7197/01]

I understand that the herd in question is being collected today and will be slaughtered tomorrow, 8 March 2001. An initial payment was made to the person concerned on 2 February 2001, and the final payment of the agreed valuation will be made on receipt of the appropriate documentation.
