Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

Denis Foley

Question:

118 Mr. Foley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will list, in respect of County Kerry for each of the years 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, the grants, projects or schemes funded by her Department, or any agency under the aegis of her Department; the receiving body or organisation; and the amount allocated in each instance. [7497/01]

My Department does not have responsibility for providing funding for grants, projects or schemes in County Kerry or in any other county. The agencies under the aegis of my Department are allocated Exchequer money each year, which they use, along with their own resources, to promote enterprise and employment. This activity comes within the remit of the agencies' own day-to-day functions. Deputy Foley may wish to address his question to the boards of the various development agencies that report to my Department and which have responsibility for allocating funding for expenditure on grants, projects and schemes throughout the country.
